As a national training arm of World Impact, TUMI equips leadership for the urban church.  We focus our investment on ministry leaders who are called to evangelize, disciple, and plant churches in unreached urban neighborhoods. Our single passion and desire is to advance the Kingdom of God in America’s inner cities.

World Impact’s Mission Statement
World Impact is an interdenominational Christian missions organization dedicated to ministering God’s love in the inner cities of America.  We are unashamedly evangelical in doctrine and practice.

As a ministry of World Impact, TUMI unequivocally endorses World Impact’s Affirmation of Faith statement expressing its allegiance to the orthodox faith.

Understanding TUMI’s Purpose
The Urban Ministry Institute is a training and research institution that exists to equip leaders for the urban church, especially among the poor, in order to advance the Kingdom of God.

Understanding TUMI’s Vision
We are committed to facilitate pioneer urban church planting movements, to equip leaders serving those churches, and to spawn aggressive new church planting initiatives among the poor in America and across the globe.

TUMI’s 2008 Theme: The Battle Belongs to the Lord
As A. W. Tozer once affirmed, in the realms of heaven and earth, only a few things really matter.  The core of Christian theology and practice is grounded in the victory of God through Jesus Christ over evil, the promise of a restored creation, and the bringing into glory a new humanity who shares his likeness and dominion.  Historically, this view of the work of Christ is called Christus Victor. This motif represents our thematic center for our Church year programming this 2007-2008 session.
