The Urban Ministry Institute Programs

The Urban Ministry Institute concentrates all of its educational programming on ministering effectively among city populations, and all our classes are taught in light of the needs of urban ministry. We believe that the rapid growth of cities around the world presents both a challenge and an opportunity for the church of Jesus Christ. Therefore, each course given by The Urban Ministry Institute has an urban focus and will include content that is important to people who minister in cities.

The Certificate in Christian Leadership Studies (32 credit hrs)
The Certificate in Urban Theological Studies (32 credit hrs)

SITE BASED CURRICULUM Programs The P.L.U.G Certificate
(6-month accelerated program)

The P.L.U.G Certificate stands for “Purposefully Launching an Urban Genre” ministry. This certificate program is geared toward those who desire to be in urban ministry with a sense of urgency accompanying their heart for the lost. This program is designed to help you create and launch that which God has placed on your heart. It is considered an “Urban Genre” because we all have different talents and gifts, which can be part of our various genres. This program is only specific to TUMI-Hawthorne and is not offered at any other site.
